all about me
2016-2017 marks my eighteenth year in education. I have been an educator within the state of Texas for the past fifteen years including seven years with Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and several years within private, for profit education, and one year with Lake Worth ISD. I have worked as a tutor and SAT and ACT instructor as well as privately tutoring and I am a consultant (when the occasion warrants) for student-athletes seeking information about the NCAA Clearinghouse and the Clearinghouse process.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education (certified grades 1-8, Generalist) from Oklahoma City University and my Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction in Technology Integration from Grand Canyon University. Further, I am a member of the Discovery Educator Network (DEN), a DEN STAR, a DENSI participant in 2014, 2015, and 2016, a Symbaloo Certified Educator, a Common Sense Media Certified Educator:Digital Citizenship, and an Edmodo Ambassador. I was honored with a DENny Award in 2015 and again in 2016 for Involvement in the DEN Community. I am currently working on my Google Certified Educator Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.
I believe that EVERY child has the capacity to learn... but not every child learns in the same way or at the same rate. It is my responsibility (and my joy) to help your child learn to interact with the world through technology. Students access lessons that are creative, innovative, and constructive to connect core curriculum with individual learning using technology to integrate and teach digital citizenship, internet research, keyboarding skills, word processing, spreadsheets, digital images and graphics, multimedia presentations, audio manipulation, and Web 2.0 activities.
